Welcome to Aaslestad Preservation Consulting, LLC
Over the past two decades, Peter Aaslestad has photographed, measured, and drawn hundreds of existing structures - preparing them for further architectural study. His expertise in architectural documentation is frequently sought by leading preservation architects across the country to collaborate on projects that require a high degree of reliability and graphic excellence. Past commissions have included national landmarks as well as many everyday structures.
Mr. Aaslestad has presented his work to both universities and professional organizations such as the Association for Preservation Technology. In 2001, he became an active member of the Investigative Team working to restore James Madison's Montpelier: their work was recognized in 2003 by the Vernacular Architectural Forum's Paul E. Buchanan Award for excellence. For twelve years Mr. Aaslestad served as director of the "Recording Historic Structures" studio at Frazier Associates. Prior to that he worked with architectural firms in New York City and in Paris, France after receiving his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech in 1989.
Architectural Fieldwork
The next time your firm needs to document existing conditions, take advantage of new technologies available today. Mr. Aaslestad’s expertise in combining the right mixture of photogrammetry, laser technology and conventional hands-on assessment can help solve the problem of obtaining reliable documentation at the outset of your project. When your team goes into the field, equip them with the documentation they need to be up and running immediately. Your client will also be happy to finally have a good set of drawings that accurately represent the state of their building.
