PROJECT PROFILE: VIRGINIA UNION UNIVERSITY
Awarded a grant by the Getty for a preservation plan for its historic campus, Virginia Union University realized that it had no architectural documentation of the half dozen or more structures listed on the National Register. Aaslestad provided envelope plans and a representative elevation for each of these - as well as for the unique "Belgian Building" which had been moved to Richmond from New York City at the close of the 1939 World's Fair.
