PROJECT PROFILE: LUZERNE COUNTY COURTHOUSE
Luzerne County Pennsylvania boasts one of the most beautiful courthouses in the nation. Designed and built at the dawn of the 20th century when coal was king, this classical, cruciform structure underwent a number of significant design changes during construction. As a result, stewards of the today's building did not have drawings on file that reflect the final design of the building when charged with a renovation of the building's exterior envelope and rotunda. These were provided by Aaslestad who created a series of interior and exterior elevations with sufficient detail to locate the building's individual construction units.
